It is my joy and passion to be able to sit with and teach children art. Most children want to express themselves through art, so it comes very naturally to them.
Lack of school funding has caused many schools to drop art education. My classes, although on a very small level, helps to fill this gap.
I teach classes after school of between 1 and 3 students four to five days a week. The kids get lots of individual attention. We not only paint, but we study famous artists, and also take one or two filed trips a year to art museums or art galleries.
Planting the seeds of creativity in young minds is one of the most rewarding endeavors I have had in my life. My art studio is in my home, and I provide all art supplies for the students. We start painting with acrylics, and then move to water color. We paint many different subjects, and when studying acrylics, each child takes home that painting at the end of class. When studying watercolor, we keep a watercolor journal that the students will take home at the end of a semester.
My mission in giving children art lessons, is to make them aware of all the paintable beauty that surrounds them in their everyday life, and to give them the instruction and skills to capture and express what they see through their own eyes in an art form that they develop at a young age.
